Reading and working for gifted, highly sensitive and visual thinkers
Joey sometimes says things that other people don’t understand. Or he says nothing, and watches the movies in his head. Joey is an excellent dreamthinker.
Dreamthinking is sort of daydreaming and thinking really hard at the same time. It often happens when children are in school, where the are taught in a different way than they prefer to learn.
Joey’s teacher doesn’t notice that Joey is working hard: his brain, senses, fantasy… everything is active. But Joey is sitting still and looking out of the window.
‘He just won’t listen,’ the teacher says.
If only everyone could look inside the mind of Dreamthinkers!

Arnout Van den Bossche –
I really enjoyed reading Dreamthinking and so did my daughter. The great thing is that at no point the child feels that it has a ‘problem’ that need to be fixed. I liked the humorous style of the writer. By describing the world of feelings of the ‘Dream thinker’ one can really relate without becoming therapeutic.
Tina Harlow, giftedness specialist –
I am a Child and Family Therapist specializing in giftedness and am so grateful to have found this book! I am using this book in my practice and find it very helpful for giving children a greater understanding of themselves. My clients resonate with Joey’s thought processes and find it relieving to know that they are not alone. This book puts words to their experiences. The questions throughout are thought-provoking and prompt insightful discussion.
